Jewelry Care

Tarnishing is a natural process caused by oxidation.  Tarnish does not damage silver.  Gently rub tarnished pieces with a treated polishing cloth.  You can purchase polishing cloths at local jewelry stores and department stores.

Do not use silver polishing cloths on 24 kt gold, pearls, ivory, opals, corals, lapis, malachite or other soft porous stones.  Gently cleanse these types of jewelry by wiping them with a soft, damp cloth.

Keep pearl jewelry separated from other jewelry pieces.  Pearls are soft and can easily be scratched.

Do not use tarnish removing dips on items that have decorative oxidation or patina;  for example, do not use on bali silver or stained glass pendants with copper patina.  Using dips may remove the tarnish or patina that gives your piece its unique look.  You should wipe these pieces with a soft damp cloth.

Please be gentle with your handcrafted jewelry.  Avoid bending sterling silver wire, bending the wire may cause breakage and ruin the integrity of your piece. You should avoid wearing your jewelry while sleeping, playing sports, swimming, or housecleaning.  Do not wear jewelry where the jewelry may come in contact with abrasive soaps.

By following these tips, you will wear your jewelry for many years to come.
